VoIPcare Announces qMetrix for Healthcare for Real-Time Collection of Quality Data

Cedar Rapids, IA, August 26, 2009 — VoIPcare Technology today announced the enhancement of their qMetrix for Heathcare system. The system is a secure web based application to assist hospitals in real time collection, storage and reporting of core measures. Concurrent collection offers hospitals the opportunity to improve patient outcomes. The qMetrix fully integrated vendor reporting system saves hospitals money at the back end by reducing the need for extensive chart reviewing.

VoIPcare’s technology helps hospitals with collecting and managing quality and performance data metrics. It represents a major improvement over present methods by saving time, increasing revenue, and improving clinical outcomes with decision support.

qMetrix for Healthcare offers a standard secure web browser interface for data entry and review. Also offered is a premium service with interactive voice response (IVR) which allows the nurse or staff personnel to call into the qMetrix system and answer a series of questions about the quality measures for each patient. This information is then available through either IVR or the web service for use at a later date. The premium service also provides the users with access to visual icons for each patient, which indicate measures that have not been completed and trends for use in decision-making.

The qMetrix system is currently available for Acute Myocardial Infarction and Heart Failure modules.
Surgical Care Improvement, Pneumonia, Patient Safety and Medication Reconciliation modules are in the design phase now.

“We are striving to make an impact on cost reductions for healthcare and improve patient outcomes with a valuable tool to support the healthcare industry,” states Willie Sneller, Principal of VoIPcare Technology.

VoIPcare’s unique blend of technology allows hospitals to satisfy regulatory requirements and at the same time take significant steps forward in the ability to monitor and improve overall quality. qMetrix for Healthcare is also an integration platform that can be used as a single data entry point for multiple reporting entities.  No IT infrastructure changes are required for hospitals to implement qMetrix. Another benefit of the system is that it requires no capital investment for a hospital to begin using the service.
