Wolters Kluwer Health Announces eCourses for Nurses on Patient Safety and More

Wolters Kluwer Health, a leading global provider of information and point-of-care solutions for the healthcare industry, has announced availability of professional development eCourses for nurses that were developed in collaboration with Joint Commission Resources (JCR), official publisher and educator of The Joint Commission. This first set of 30 courses focuses on Compliance, Patient Safety and Heart Failure care.  All of the new courses are included in Lippincott’s Professional Development Programs, an eLearning library available to hospitals and other health institutions.

The new eCourses are the first to be released as a result of the collaboration announced in July between JCR and Wolters Kluwer Health.  Designed to help hospitals meet Joint Commission certification and accreditation requirements, all of the new courses have been reviewed and certified by The Joint Commission experts.

This first set of online courses includes 10 on Compliance; 10 on Patent Safety; and 10 on disease-specific care certification support for Heart Failure.  A second set of 10 courses on Heart Failure and 10 on Stroke will be available in March 2014; and a third set of 10 additional Stroke courses is expected to be available in June 2014. Thereafter, JCR and The Joint Commission experts will continue to add new courses in other disease-specific care areas, and review, update and certify content on a quarterly basis.

Lippincott’s Professional Development Programs consist of evidence-based online courses organized into programs by key nursing specialties and topic areas, such as critical care, cardiovascular care, obstetrics, neurologic care, pediatrics, behavioral health, compliance and patient safety. Designed to optimize nurses’ clinical performance, most courses include continuing education (CE) credit and are delivered in easy-to-learn, interactive formats.

Lippincott’s Professional Development Programs are part of Lippincott’s Nursing Solutions, a series of evidence-based software applications designed to improve patient outcomes, enhance nurse competency, standardize care, save time, and promote clinical excellence.
