Saint Luke’s Health System to Implement PeriGen in Seven Hospitals

Saint Luke’s Health System (SLHS), one of the largest not-for-profit health systems in the Midwest, has signed an agreement to implement PeriGen’s PeriCALM® fetal surveillance system  in its seven metro and regional birthing hospitals in northwest Missouri and northeast Kansas. Celebrating 100 years of delivering babies, SLHS hospitals collectively deliver 6,000 newborns annually.

“Our clinicians, quality administrators and IT staff are all excited to roll out the PeriCALM platform,” said Gloria Solis, Chief Nursing Officer and Chief Operating Officer at Saint Luke’s East Hospital. “PeriGen’s evidence-based fetal surveillance and decision support functionality coupled with its experience interfacing with Epic builds upon our mission to outfit our hospitals with the most sophisticated medical technology. Our goal is to facilitate the very best health outcomes for our patients, including our smallest ones and their moms.”

PeriGen’s first system deployment in the state of Missouri will involve interfacing labor and delivery (L&D) patient information and fetal strip data to the SLHS’s EPIC enterprise-wide electronic health record (EHR) system early next Spring.

PeriGen’s obstetrics team demonstrated to SLHS clinical and technical teams the benefits of upgrading from their current perinatal system to the PeriCALM platform.  Notably impactful were displays of both long-term and detailed views of the tracings in addition to automated, real-time pattern recognition to interpret fetal heart tracings, and the ability to monitor labor progress with clinical decision support – all at the bedside.

“Saint Luke’s Health System is well regarded in our industry for their forward-thinking vision and commitment to quality care,” said Matthew Sappern, CEO of PeriGen. “We are excited to work with Saint Luke’s, and consider them close and valuable partners in our efforts to build innovative systems in support of better outcomes.”
