Bellevue, Washington, June 22, 2010 — Pharmacy OneSource, Inc., software-as-a-service provider to more than 1,300 hospitals in the United States, announced that West Florida Hospital in Pensacola, Florida, adopted Sentri7 to give its staff a single point of access to lab results, medication records and patient demographics, data that previously resided in different systems.
Clinicians can write rules against the data to identify opportunities for intervention and optimize medication use. Sentri7 can help the hospital comply with national standards set by the government and hospital accreditation bodies. For example, West Florida Hospital uses Sentri7 to monitor patients on anticoagulants for the Joint Commission’s National Patient Safety Goal 3.
“Sentri7 has decreased the amount of redundant monitoring performed by the pharmacist. West Florida Hospital is also using Sentri7 for antibiotic stewardship, infectious diseases, core measures, high-risk drug interactions and IV-to-PO medication recommendations. The hospital is moving toward a decentralized pharmacy model later this year and expects to use Sentri7 for more clinical initiatives in the future.
