Epocrates Launches Most Popular Medical Reference Tool for Android Smartphones

Company now supports all major mobile platforms.
 
San Mateo, CA, February 23, 2010 — As part of an ongoing commitment to supporting physicians at the point of care, Epocrates, Inc., announced availability of a beta version of its software for Google’s Android™. With this new offering, Epocrates® software is now available across all major mobile platforms, including iPhone®, BlackBerry®, Palm®, Windows Mobile®, and Android.

Epocrates relies on input from its extensive clinician subscriber base to provide the information they value most in an easy-to-navigate mobile clinical reference tool. The Android OS version features Epocrates’ gold-standard drug database, including thousands of brand and generic medications, developed and maintained by the company’s in-house team of physicians and pharmacists. Clinicians will also have quick access to Epocrates’ reliable and widely-used tools, including the drug interaction checker, pill identifier and medical calculators.

The new Epocrates application for the Android is available for free download at www.epocrates.com/products/android. The company will integrate user feedback from the beta software as it continues enhancing Epocrates Rx® (free) and developing its premium offering, which will be available later this year.
