Covisint, a Compuware Company, Wins New Business from Vermont Blueprint for Health

Covisint to Deliver a More Tightly Integrated Electronic Health Record System, Benefiting Vermonters Statewide

Detroit, Michigan, January 24, 2011—Covisint, a Compuware company, announced that it has signed a new agreement with Vermont Blueprint for Health, a statewide organization that improves individual health and the health care system for all Vermonters. The new contract gives care providers statewide access to a more comprehensive and tightly integrated view of their patients’ medical information at the point of care. “We chose Covisint for performance and quality metrics and to ensure the best quality health care outcomes for Vermonters,” said Hunt Blair, Director, Health Care Reform, Department of Vermont Health Access, Agency for Health Services, State of Vermont. “When delivering health care services to an entire state population – and interacting with patients, physicians, plans and health care systems – we demanded the best, most connected and secure solution available, which is why we selected Covisint.”

“Care delivery success is increasingly defined – and rewarded – by favorable health outcomes, not by the number of tests and physician visits,” said Craig Jones M.D. and Director, Vermont Blueprint for Health. “To achieve these favorable outcomes, obtaining the most comprehensive view of a patient’s health is key. Our strategic relationship with Covisint will help ensure that families and patients will receive seamless, well coordinated healthcare.”

Vermont chose Covisint because of Covisint’s ability to provide connected care coordination solutions that enable healthcare data to securely flow to those most important to delivering favorable patient outcomes. Covisint’s DocSite solution creates a shared guideline dictionary for Vermont Blueprint for Health, giving access to common questions and answers that can be used across various electronic medical and health records (EMRs and EHRs). The Covisint solution also can be used by community care teams and by practices with or without an EHR.

“Vermont Blueprint for Health puts patient-centered care delivery at the heart of the equation, providing specific and actionable patient information into the point of care workflow for all Vermonters,” said John Haughton M.D., M.S. and Chief Medical Information Officer for Covisint. “This renewed relationship provides deep value and helps ensure the success of Vermont’s commitment to the health of its citizenry.”
