Patient Safety Specialist

Under the supervision of the Patient Safety Officer and Director of Patient Safety and Quality Improvement this position is responsible for supporting the hospital’s Patient Safety program, monitoring compliance with the National Patient Safety Goals, monitoring the results of the hospital’s Patient Safety Culture Survey, scheduling and maintaining the results of Administrative Safety Rounds, the management of special projects, and completion of data analysis for the Patient Safety Committee. The patient safety specialist will participate in root cause analysis, focused reviews, and oversee the ongoing functions of the department. This may include but is not limited to: management of the Patient Safety dashboard, management of the unit-based safety goal dashboards, database management, data entry support and analysis, meeting coordination and minutes for the Patient Safety Committee, and drafting reports and correspondence.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree from an accredited college, Masters Degree in Health Care Administration or Health Policy a plus.
  • Three years experience in a hospital or related health care setting.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • Experience with database and spreadsheet management.
