MEDSEEK, SelfCareNet, & Primetime Medical Partner to Deliver Integrated Consumer-Centric Solution

User-friendly decision-support tools facilitate information exchange between patients and physicians, saving time and enhancing care

Solvang, CA, and Denver, CO Nov. 13, 2006 SelfCareNet, a leading provider of physician-authored, peer-reviewed "pre-visit decision support information," MEDSEEK, the recognized leader in enterprise eHealth portals, and Primetime Medical, a provider of patient interviewing technology, today announced a strategic partnership to provide consumers access to pre-visit information, empowering them to make better decisions about their health. With this new solution, SelfCareNet's web-based decision support information has been enhanced with Primetime's Instant Medical History questionnaires.
Patients and parents often don't know when they should call their physician's office or a hospital's nurse call center, schedule an appointment or rely on an e-Visit with a physician. SelfCareNet information helps the patient decide, based on their symptoms, the best course of action. There are as many as five decision points for each medical problem based on an individual's circumstances. When a patient needs to see a physician, each appropriate decision point is linked to an Instant Medical History questionnaire.
MEDSEEK will sell the SelfCareNavigator information products to hospitals and health systems. SelfCareNavigator can be implemented within MEDSEEK's consumer and patient portals. SelfCareNavigator can also be integrated with Primetime Medical Software's Instant Medical History to promote eVisit adoption.
By providing pre-visit guidance to patients and their families, SelfCareNavigator drives traffic to a hospital's consumer and patient portals; reduces calls into the call center or physician offices; increases patient satisfaction; promotes eVisits and online appointment request functionality; and increases web-based physician referrals.
