Global Care Quest and VisionTree Announce Strategic Agreement

Healthcare technology firms to integrate GCQ's clinical information system with VisionTree's Healthcare Online Patient Management Portal

Chicago, Oct. 9, 2006 Healthcare technology developers Global Care Quest, Inc. (GCQ) and VisionTree Software, Inc. today announced a strategic agreement to integrate GCQ's Integrated Clinical Information System (ICIS) with VisionTree's Healthcare Online Patient Management Portal. Coupling the two systems will allow VisionTree's system to automatically pull patient demographic data from ICIS and deliver it along with patient-completed information, physician documents, reports and more to users via desktop/laptop computers and mobile handheld devices.
ICISTM is an advanced system that collects critical patient information, such as lab results, medications, physician notes, X-rays, CAT scans, and real time vitals, and delivers it to healthcare providers via PC, laptop or handheld device such as a smartphone or PDA.
VisionTree® Healthcare is a proven and secure patient health management portal for collecting and storing health records, consents, reminders, messaging, education material and outcomes data. The web-based portal delivers quality patient and provider/payer communication and documentation through a system that meets the requirements of patient safety, risk management and P4P guidelines, as well as reducing transcription costs.
"Today's healthcare providers are highly mobile professionals, so it's critical that patient data is mobile too," said Global Care Quest CEO Cleve Adams. "The combination of ICIS and VisionTree's Healthcare Portal means users will have access to the full scope of patient information at anytime and from virtually anywhere."
"By including the patient through web-based data collection such as their history, consents and outcomes assessments, VisionTree is delivering efficient workflow integration and capturing critical data points for quality healthcare decisions, said Martin Pellinat, CEO of VisionTree Software. "Integration of VisionTree with GCQ will allow physicians and staff real-time access to relevant data and alerts in their clinic and mobile environment."
The ICIS/VisionTree integration is part of a growing trend among leading healthcare technology providers to increase interoperability and eliminate patient "information islands." By allowing freer data exchange between systems, organizations like GCQ and VisionTree are helping to improve quality of care and patient safety by eliminating errors and reducing costs often associated with manual transcription and incompatible systems. The integration is expected to be complete in the 4th quarter of 2006.
