Patient Safety and Quality Healthcare: e-News
Debut of "Ask Dr. Clark"
Web Series

Captains of Industry, a marketing firm specializing in the development of web content, has launched the "Ask Dr. Clark" show at www.captainsofindustry.com. "We keep telling clients they need to have entertaining video experiences on their websites to engage customers. We're just practicing what we preach," says Fred Surr, Captains of Industry principal and executive producer of "Ask Dr. Clark."
The show, which includes a range of "bite-sized" video clips featuring a chain-smoking 1960s era physician, allows viewers not only to watch videos but also to interact with the doctor by emailing him questions (i.e. "What is the purpose of life?" and "My voice is too low to get a date. Can you help?"). A team of comedy writers at Captains of Industry will respond to selected questions via e-mail, and choose the best questions for Dr. Clark to respond to via new videos posted to the site in both English and Spanish.
"With 'Ask Dr. Clark,' we've created for ourselves what we create for our clients an entertaining, interactive web experience that viewers seek out and pass along to their friends," says Ted Page, a Captains of Industry principal and creative director who plays Dr. Clark.
Surr and Page also have made serious educational videos for the medical community. In 2000, they produced the acclaimed Partnernship for Patient Safety (p4ps) video series First Do No Harm®, which dramatizes events drawn from real malpractice claims. The First Do No Harm series now is used by educators and consultants in over 40 countries.*
Dr. Clark is in the office and available to answer your questions at www.captainsofindustry.com. First Do No Harm interactive training packages are available at a $50 discount to readers of this newsletter and Patient Safety and Quality Healthcare at www.p4ps.org/discount or call 630-881-1695.
