Patient Safety and Quality Healthcare: New Products
Thomson Micromedex and MercuryMD in Joint Agreement

Thomson Micromedex and MercuryMD, Inc., announce today they are joining forces to offer a comprehensive solution of evidence-based content integrated with mobile and desktop access to complete patient information for integrated delivery networks and hospitals.
Micromedex is a part of The Thomson Corporation, a leader in enterprise-wide clinical knowledge solutions for scientific and healthcare professionals. MercuryMD is a premier provider of mobile information systems to hospitals and clinicians, specializing in ubiquitous access to patient-specific clinical information for physicians.
Under the agreement, Micromedex will integrate its clinical knowledge solutions, including mobileMICROMEDEX handheld software and patient education resources with MercuryMD's MData® Mobile and MData Desktop applications. The comprehensive offering will be accessed through a web-enabled linking and information retrieval function developed by Micromedex called InfoButton Access. Thus, the physician uses one application desktop or mobile to access electronic patient information and clinical knowledge solutions through a single linked source, enabling true clinical decision support at the point of care.
Physicians who use MData with InfoButton Access to access their patients' medical history, medication lists, and test results can now quickly click from a test result to evidence-based information on how to interpret abnormal results. Without infobutton technology, clinicians must deter from their normal workflows to search for clinical references, or use their best judgment to answer critical clinical questions on labs, diagnosis, treatment, and patient education options. Now patient and context-specific answers are available with one click from virtually any location.
