Patient Safety and Quality Healthcare: New Products
iQuality released by HMC

The Healthcare Management Council, Inc. (www.HMC-Benchmarks.com), a non-traditional benchmarking firm that fosters collaboration in hospital performance management announces iQuality. The objective of iQuality is to rapidly identify areas of clinical improvement opportunity, well before that information becomes public. Using a hospital's own UB-92 data, HMC applies the patient safety and quality AHRQ designed programming logic to calculate your AHRQ measures. The result is current performance data that can point you in the direction of opportunities for improvement. See your results from last month, not from last year . . . and compare those results to hospital peers.
Most hospital quality data is outdated, sometimes as much as a year old. Opportunities to improve clinical processes based on old data means the opportunity to fix it are gone by the time you find out about it. Processes that could be changed to improve the quality of life for your patients can go unnoticed. These measures are public and they can impact your hospital's reimbursement. In an age of consumerism, that means, for the first time, clinical outcomes can now impact your hospital's volume and revenue.
iQuality is part of a suite of HMC tools to simplify the generation of ideas (Idea Trees), creation of action plans (Action Plan Developer), the measurement and communication of results (Trackers and the Digital Dashboard) and the web based collaboration platform HMCwiki. Both department managers and hospital executives use these tools to monitor action plans that focus on key strategic initiatives. Together they give a hospital a more complete view of current performance improvement efforts, and where performance is headed.
